In 2019, Forbes ranked United Way Worldwide as the largest privately-funded U.S. nonprofit, with $3.3 billion of private donations received. United Way Worldwide is a network of nearly 1,800 local United Ways around the world that work with different sectors of society to pool fundraising and volunteer support to strengthen communities’ health, education, and financial stability. Approximately 14.5% of donations to United Way go to administrative costs.
