Sinai Health

Sinai Health System’s Sinai Community Institute (SCI) provides community-based health and social service programs to approximately 14,000 families each year. They offer targeted prenatal care, holistic workforce development, a technology center, and youth programming. At SCI, the Sinai Better Birth Outcomes (BBO) provides prenatal case management to high-risk residents with high Medicaid costs. Training and Employment provides SNAP (food stamp) beneficiaries with case management, career counseling, education and skills training, occupational internships, and job placement. The Sinai Technology Center provides computer access to community residents for resume creation, and the job search and application process. The Leadership Academy offers eight through tenth grade boys who may be impacted by violence with mentors, and the One Summer Chicago Plus Program (OSC+) offers enrichment and employment opportunities for students in Chicago’s most at-risk schools. In the same vein, hospitals like Boston Medical Center and Massachusetts General Hospital maintain nutritious food pantries for low-income families to address health and food insecurity.
