Help individuals obtain driver’s licenses
The lack of a driver’s license inhibits independence and also prevents individuals from accessing employment opportunities, health care, and other essential aspects of life.
Connect your clients to programs or resources that will help them obtain a driver’s license. If no program exists in your community, design and implement one that includes financial support for driver's education and fees.
To get started:
Identify with your clients what barriers exist that prevent them from acquiring or retaining their driver’s license.
Develop a program that includes driver training and financial assistance to cover associated costs.
Advocate for a more equitable process, if in your region there are license requirements that disproportionately affect those below the NPPS.
