Provide a list of essential resources to community members
Quality of life for your congregants is deeply impacted by a lack of access to nutritious food, adequate clothing, health and hygiene products, cleaning supplies, housewares, furniture, bedding, and other essential products.
Create and distribute an extensive list of local resources that provide individuals and families with these items.
To get started:
Research local organizations and programs that provide basic need items (food, clothing, personal care products, furniture, etc.) for free or at reduced cost.
Develop and share a resource guide with your congregants and the wider community through listservs, newsletters, social media, print materials, or any of your public platforms.
Ensure you check on the content/resources (e.g., calling each provider in the guide), as many change from year to year and it is important to share only updated/accurate information.
