Volunteer in support of local efforts to improve safety
Rates of violence are much higher in neighborhoods with higher percentages of families living below the NPPS.
Volunteer with existing organizations and programs to ensure that all communities have basic safety infrastructure (e.g., lighting) to help increase community safety and reduce violence.
To get started:
Identify grassroots safety groups that have direct experience providing impactful programs in neighborhoods with concentrated poverty and areas with high crime rates.
Volunteer your expertise to provide behind-the-scenes administrative, legal or bookkeeping support, or hands-on assistance.
