Bring education programs to shelters and affordable housing communities
Adults and children in shelters and/or who have lived in poverty their whole lives have not had exposure to information that could be vital to their personal and professional development.
Engage your faculty and students in outreach efforts that will bring a wide range of information to adults and children.
To get started:
Connect with shelter staff and housing providers to assess their needs and interests.
Determine your capacity to support long-term programming.
Develop curriculum that focuses on areas such as stress management, nutrition, and financial planning, in addition to more traditional academic programming.
Best Practices / Innovative Programs
