Develop innovative, cross-sector child care partnerships
Affordable child care is one of the most prohibitive employment factors for those living below the NPPS.
Many sectors are positioned to play a partnership role with your company in developing effective and innovative child care programs. Connecting with faith communities, educational institutions, nonprofit organizations, and others will enable each sector to bring its strengths to the partnership.
To get started:
Explore your immediate area for potential partners (e.g., faith communities, educational institutions).
Identify what each partner can bring to the partnership.
Establish a child care center or program, pursuing the appropriate training and licensure.
Form a leadership team consisting of representatives from each partner, inclusive also of those who will be utilizing the program.

The Missoula Area Chamber of Commerce's Child Care Initiative, in Montana, has been recognized on the local, state and national level – including an invitation to the White House to discuss the role Chambers can play in helping address this important workforce need. They completed two surveys, created seven community models, and created connections that led to the first for-profit business in a vacant county school building.
