Assist programs working “on the ground”
Civic associations often form close partnerships with organizations engaged in the collection and distribution of essential items in their communities. These efforts can provide critical relief to those living below the NPPS.
Organizations redistributing essential items often rely on volunteers to collect, sort, and/or distribute donations, as well as to find the financial resources to carry out their mission.
To get started:
Identify food, clothing, furniture banks, or other nonprofits that provide basic need items.
Schedule recurring volunteer days or commit to volunteering a certain number of hours per month.
Donate or raise funds to help the nonprofit organization(s) you have identified as partners.
