Create a basic needs resource guide
Civic associations have a long history of serving those in need and of representing a wide range of services in a community. This is especially important when there are so many individuals and families struggling to afford basic need items such as nutritious foods, clothing, personal care products, cleaning supplies, baby items, and housewares.
Utilize your network (and the networks of your members) to create an extensive list of local resources for basic need items.
To get started:
Research local organizations that provide basic need items.
Create a comprehensive guide containing contact information, hours of operation, and eligibility requirements.
Share the resource guide with the community via listservs, newsletters, social media, or print materials. Consider sharing with local schools, libraries, or community centers in under-resourced neighborhoods.
Best Practices / Innovative Programs
