Become a job coach or mentor
Many individuals living below the NPPS do not have the professional networks or early influences that individuals in middle- or upper-income backgrounds bring to their professional careers.
Volunteering as a mentor or job coach allows you to share your expertise and professional networks.
To get started:
Research opportunities at nonprofits that offer workforce development or job coaching programs, or check with your local chamber of commerce to see what mentoring/job coaching programs exist in your area.
Inquire about required job experience, qualifications, and time commitment.
Commit to a long-term partnership.
