Volunteer with an apprenticeship program
For individuals living below the NPPS, it is more difficult to access traditional workforce development experiences, such as internships or certification programs.
Apprenticeships offer paid on-the-job training, an accredited certification, and often place participants directly into a job. Volunteer with a local apprenticeship program to help individuals obtain work experience and industry-specific knowledge.
To get started:
Identify apprenticeship programs in your community through nonprofits, educational institutions, or businesses.
Inquire about ways to engage with the program, such as teaching workshops on employability, leadership, and networking skills, or industry-specific training.
Commit your time and expertise or provide donations for training courses.
