Create a vehicle donation program

The lack of access to a personal vehicle is a significant barrier for individuals seeking employment opportunities in areas with minimal or inefficient public transit.

Establish a vehicle donation program, building a team of congregants who can commit to using their skills or developing skills to deliver a comprehensive program. Build cross-sector partnerships to ensure you can provide a full-service program (e.g., maintenance, registration support).

To get started:

  1. Identify members interested in making a long-term commitment to the program.

  2. Develop training programs to help members build necessary skills, from basic vehicle maintenance to understanding tax laws relative to vehicle donations.

  3. Advertise the program in the larger community to assist in receiving vehicles and/or parts.

  4. Dedicate tithe and other funds to support the long-term sustenance of the program.
